VANEX Annual General Meeting 2024 – Strengthening Uganda’s Vanilla Legacy

The Association of the Vanilla Exporters of Uganda (VANEX) successfully held its Annual General Meeting for the year ended 2024 at Hotel Africana, Kampala.

Corporate Governance in Action
The AGM was officially opened by Executive Director, Ms. Prossy Tumushabe, and chaired by the VANEX Board Chairperson. Members affirmed the importance of annual meetings in enhancing transparency and accountability.

Financial Transparency
Auditors Corn & Cal Associates presented a clean audit report for 2024. The Association maintained a break-even budget with zero surplus, in line with its non-profit nature. VANEX resolved to enhance reporting standards moving forward.

Data-Led Quality Assurance
Biannual Vanilla Maturity Surveys and expanded Pollination Data Collection will support better harvest timing and improved bean quality.

Digital Market Access
Plans are underway to launch an online platform where VANEX members can showcase and sell their products globally.
