TAMBIISA (U) Ltd is a Private Limited Export Company that was established and incorporated in Uganda in 2008. With its offices and a state-of-the-art factory located in Makindye, Ssabagobo, Lugga zone, Wakiso district, the company is one of Uganda’s leading exporters of premium quality natural and organic vanilla, which is sourced directly from hundreds of smallholder organic farmers around Mountain Rwenzori.

Coetzee Organic (U) Ltd has established itself as one of the leading exporter of organic vanilla from Uganda and are arguably consistently producing the highest quality vanilla in the Industry. Coetzee Organic (U) Ltd engages with various formalised smallholder farmer groups that are an integral part of their supply.

MUGHETE NYAKABALE VANILLA-COFFEE GROWERS COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD

Mughete Nyakabale Vanilla-Coffee Growers Cooperative Society Ltd is a farmer based organisation that was started in 2016 by vanilla farmers who faced common problems. It was registered with the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives under registration 9611 /RCS; it deals in vanilla buying from its member farmers. It has 352 members and 3 other groups. It produces over 20mt per year of green vanilla beans.

Esco Uganda Ltd is a family business working directly with farmers to export high quality vanilla and other agricultural commodities. Direct, long- term relationships with farmers are integral to our approach as we strive to further the Ugandan vanilla industry.

Networking and Collective Voice

We provide a platform for joining hands and adding your voice to a larger network of vanilla value chain actors locally and globally, to collectively promote. as well as address vanilla industry issues.


Market Access

We promote our members and enhance their visibility by listing their companies/associations in the VANEX database /directory and website. We promote the Uganda vanilla industry by participating in trade promotional events and business missions in Uganda and major international trade fairs.


Build Capacity, Learn and Grow

VANEX identifies capacity building needs of its members on annual basis, designs and supports capacity building initiatives targeted to the identified needs, that facilitate learning and growth of their businesses.

Code of Conduct


The Association of the Vanilla Exporters of Uganda (VANEX) was constituted by vanilla exporters in 2003 in order to harmonize and co-ordinate their efforts and activities in the best interest of the vanilla export industry in Uganda. VANEX serves as a platform to represent the interests of the private sector to Government in all matters relating to the development and regulation of the vanilla industry. The aim is to create an enabling environment for sustainable vanilla production and trade with a view of making Uganda a reliable global source of high-quality natural vanilla.

Application Proceedure


The membership application and admission protocol was established and approved by the board of directors with a purpose of providing a detailed guidance on the process to be followed by interested stakeholders who wish to join the organization.

Membership Fees



VANEX membership fees are as showed in the table below and these will be determined by the decision of the board and approval by the Annual General Meeting and reviewed every three years.


The fees consist of a membership application fee; that is a one off fee paid at the time of entry together with the initial annual subscription fee.


Annual fees are due on demand every 15th day of January, regardless of the date a new member paid their initial annual subscription in the previous year.


The annual subscription fee is paid every 15th day of January in every year by all old members. For each type of member, it is expressed if you have a right to voting or no voting right.
