Introduction
Coetzee Organic (U) Ltd has established itself as one
of the leading exporter of organic vanilla from Uganda
and are arguably consistently producing the highest
quality vanilla in the Industry. Coetzee Organic (U) Ltd
engages with various formalised smallholder farmer
groups that are an integral part of their supply.
Company philosophy
We have a very simple goal and that is to produce
the highest quality small holder vanilla in the world
and to grow our supplier base and markets every
season. The triple bottom line is an essential part
of our success and we are the first company in
Uganda to introduce a formal quality based pricing
system on vanilla, in combination with Fair Trade and
Organic Premiums, thus ensuring both social and
environmental sustainability combined with above
market income for our small holder farmers.
Vanilla quality profile
We process our vanilla in the lengthy traditional
“Bourbon” style and from this we produce mainly
beans for the Gourmet and Extract markets. In
general our beans are over and above 2.4% vanillin on
dry weight basis
